According to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Maharashtra has moved 13 positions upwards in terms of quality of education in the past one year. Earlier it was ranked at number 14th and 15th, and now it is at number three. Further, he also mentioned that a special board of studies will be set up for ‘divyang’ (differently-abled) students in the state.

Fadnavis explained the stats with pride and added that he wants Maharashtra to be at number 1 in the near future. While addressing people from Adarsh Shikshak and Savitribai Phule Adarsh, the chief minister explained that about Rs 50,000 crore is shelled out by the government every year for the education sector. However, the amount is considered as an investment rather than an expenditure by the government.

While handing out best teacher awards to 109 teachers, he explained that it is the responsibility of the teachers to prepare the students for the future and make them fine, law-abiding citizens.

Further, he added that modernisation has spread in classrooms and in a span of one year, about 25,000 schools have been made digital.

He added that this will help bridge gap between cities and villages as via digitisation, the government will provide connectivity to all gram panchayats.
