Students Behind Narendra Modi’s PMO App Felicitated
The app allows the users to submit suggestions directly regarding PM’s Maan Ki Baat Programme.
A team of six students – comprising students from BITS Goa, BITS Pilani, Sri Venkateswara College, Delhi College of Engineering, Maharaja Agrasen University of Technology and Stony Brook University, New York – are the faces of the first-ever crowdsourced app for the Prime Minister’s Office, an extension to MyGov.in initiative.
The team was led by Raghav Sarin of Sri Venkateswara College, who won the competition conducted by Google in collaboration with the Indian Government. The competition saw more than 10,000 entries and 45,000 ideas.
The students were felicitated by the Prime Minister along with the executives of Google at the Town Hall meet. The students behind the creation of PMO App are:-

- Prajwal Seth
- Gyan Lakhwani
- Naman Dwivedi and
- Pranav Sethi
Mr. Raghav said that he has a keen interest in design and entrepreneurship which was the guiding force for him to participate in the contest. He has also worked as a freelancer for various start-up companies.
Naman Dwivedi said that he loves taking up challenging tasks, and this made him take part in the contest. He is pursuing second year engineering at Delhi Technological University.
The app allows the users to submit suggestions directly regarding PM’s Maan Ki Baat Programme. The app also comprises of audio files, messages and Twitter posts and replies of the Prime Minister.
The app also enables the people to make donations to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund. The citizens can also access critical information about flagship programmes through this app.
The students will be further going to visit the Head Quarters of Google and interact with the engineers and android teams in the Silicon Valley.
