NID Ahmedabad & IIT Guwahati Students Win Aerospace Design Competition
Two students each from NID and IIT on Tuesday, 28 February, 2017 won the 4th Honeywell India Aerospace Design Challenge Competition held in Bangalore.
Two students each from National Institute of Design (NID) and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) on Tuesday, 28 February, 2017 won the 4thHoneywell India Aerospace Design Challenge Competition held in Bangalore. The even was organised by Honeywell.
The award-winning students were BumpUp team of Harmeet Singh and Akhil Patel from theIndian Institute of Technology, Guwahatiand Hotel_Sierra team of Salil Parekh and Harshika Jain from theNational Institute of Design, Ahmedabad.

The event was held at Honeywell campus in Bangalore. Participating in the event, Vice President and General Manager at Honeywell Technology Solutions, India, Mr. Akshay Bellare said that he is delighted to meet the brilliant design students at this prestigious Aerospace Design Challenge 2017. These young guys are the future of India for building human-centered software for the country.
The People's Choice Award went to FlippedOver team comprising of Maya.S and Rohan Arora fromNational Institute of Design, Bangalore.
The consolation prizes were given to Garuda team of Devendra Singh & Ayush Tomar fromIIIT Design Jabalpurand Compas team of Aditya Patil & Palash Ghawde from NID Ahmedabad.
In the Special Mention category, prizes were given to Skychics team of Conrad Dcruz and Afifa Abdul Kader fromIIT Kanpurand NIDNMD team of Sushant Rai & Ayushi Rastogi from NID Gandhinagar.
This year around 239 students from 19 design institutes across the country joined in the event. The participants were asked to design a user-friendly and enhanced awareness solution for aerospace communication.

The competition was started in 2014. It provides an opportunity to students from different design backgrounds to demonstrate their design skills and problem-solving skills for the aerospace industry.
