Panjab University UG Merit List and Admission Schedule 2018

Panjab University, which recently concluded the online registration process for UG courses, has released the date for the announcement of merit list along with admission schedule. This year, the varsity witnessed 20% drop in the number of UG applications. For the academic session 2018-19, 4,430 applicants submitted application forms for UG courses, while the number was 5,500 last year.

One of the major reasons for the decline in the number of applications is students’ interest towards skill-oriented courses rather than conventional/ traditional courses. It takes a lot of time for establishing a successful career after pursuing B.Sc/ B.Pharma courses. Even though there are better career prospects after pursuing these courses, most students are looking for skill-oriented courses, which offer immediate employment after graduation.

This year, B.Com, BBA and BCA courses emerged as the most preferred courses among the students. There were only fewer takers for B.Sc (Hons) course due to minimal placement opportunities.
