PGDM Colleges to Attain AICTE Approval for 2022-23 Admission
AICTE has directed all the PGDM institutes to apply for approval before admitting students for 2022-23 academic year.
The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has directed all PGDM institutes to seek permission before starting with admission for the academic year 2022-2023. AICTE mentioned that it has come to their notice that many institutes have started with the admissions for PGDM 2022-23 without the permission of the AICTE. As mentioned in Appendix 9 of APH 2021’22, PGDM institutes are standalone, but they are bound to follow the norms.

The AICTE has cautioned that any institution that offers a professional course or programme in noncompliance with the regulations or approved process manual would face legal action. Hence, the PGDM institutions are advised to seek approval before admitting students to the institutes. All the institutes are also advised to apply for permission from AICTE through the official portal for the academic session 2022-2023 after the AICTE notification.
According to officials, the AICTE has decided not to award universities partial clearance of professional courses in order to avoid misunderstanding among participants.
Further, the universities have to take full approval for the professional courses or proceed without permission. Additionally, all the Deemed Universities will have to get approval first for the 2022-23 academic year. If they don't, the AICTE will be forced to stop giving approval partially to some professional programmes only.
