CBSE Term 2 exam 2022 is coming closer and now the private schools are requesting CBSE to reduce the weightage of Term 1 exams. The private school boards have written a letter to CBSE Chairperson Vineet Joshi, National Progressive Schools' Conference (NPSC) submitting their request. They have suggested that CBSE should reduce the Term 1 exam weightage by 20 to 30% and should increase the Term 2 exam weightage by 70 to 80%. Now, it is important to understand why private schools have taken this step. In response to this, the private schools have urged that they have used "unfair means and malpractices" while marking the papers during Term 1 exams. The letter has been sent by the schools to CBSE after the declaration of CBSE Term 1 results.

The letter reads, "It was observed that during the Term I examinations, which were conducted at the home centers, many schools adopted unfair means and malpractices. Consequently, many students of these schools scored full marks in most of the subjects. We are sure that CBSE must also have received similar feedback on this issue," The letter has been sent to NPSC which is a senior secondary schools association across India. NPSC has a total of 195 private schools under its provision.

In response to the letter, NPSC argued that the exams were conducted with complete honesty and fairness. However, the performance of the students has not at par with the mentioned afore. This has also adversely affected the morale of all the stakeholders. The board has also said that the Term 1 and Term 2 weightage will be confirmed at the time of result declaration. Accordingly, the final performance of the students will be calculated.
