Samsung Might Emerge as the Largest Recruiter at IITs this Year

It seems like Samsung will emerge as the top recruiter during the ongoing placement season at Indian Institutes of Technology. This year, the aim of the company is to recruit more than 300 students. The company has been leading in terms of recruitment in the first eight days of placements at three IITs.

Apart from Samsung, Capgemini, EXL and Reliance Industries are other big recruiters this year. Even though Samsung received stiff opposition regarding its latest Note 7 which caught fire in early September, it has been aggressively hiring students.

One of the officials of the company revealed that Samsung will hire 300 students from IITs for its Research and Development (R&D) wing of the company at New Delhi, Noida and Bengaluru. He further added that IITs offer the best talent and the engineers from IITs are well suited to have an innovative mindset.

According to sources, Samsung has recruited 95 students from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, Guwahati and Varanasi in the first eight days of placements. On the other hand, Samsung will also recruit students from other popular IITs soon.

Samsung - Bangalore has been the top recruiter at Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati this year. Similarly, Coal India is one of the top recruiters at Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. Wipro and Samsung are top recruiters at Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee where Samsung offered 26 jobs and 23 by Wipro.

This year, EXL has also offered 127 jobs in eight IITs across the country. Last year, EXL offered a total number of 111 jobs.
