Telangana social and tribal welfare residential students have excelled in the JEE Main exam. The result of the JEE Mains exam was declared on 30th April 2018. The Telangana social and tribal welfare students have outshined in the JEE Main exam. 179 social and 135 tribal welfare candidates have qualified for the JEE Advanced.

The qualifying candidates belong to the families of daily-wage laborers, vegetable vendors, masons, agricultural laborers, farmers and candidates belonging to particularly vulnerable tribal groups - PVTGs. R.S. Praveen Kumar, Secretary stated that this is an outstanding achievement for the PVTGs despite the backwardness faced by these groups.

He also thanked the state government and expressed his gratitude for establishing the specialized Social and Tribal Welfare Residential Centres of Excellence where the IIT aspirants are offered intensive coaching for free.

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is very happy with the result as 314 students from the state have become eligible for JEE Advanced 2018. He is of the opinion that no poor/ marginalized students student should be left behind in realizing their educational dreams due to poverty and lack of resources. He congratulated all the students and teachers for their hard work and for bringing such laurels to the state. The students are now preparing for JEE Advanced tirelessly to secure a seat in one of the IITs of the country.
