The students of National Institute of Design are going to develop usable products from demonetised currency notes. NID has bagged the project from Reserve Bank of India. The RBI has sent around 200 kg briquettes, i.e., blocks of compressed material of Rs. 1,000 and Rs. 500 notes to the institute.

National Institute of Design will also hold an all-India competition where the students will get an opportunity to earn a prize money of Rs. 1,00,000, Rs. 75,000 and Rs. 50,000 if they are successful in creating usable products with the demonetised currency notes. The competition is expected to start by NID in the last week of May.
