Students of SDMSMK, Vijayawada Create ‘Silicon Amaravati App’

The students of Sri Durga Malleswara Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala (SDMSMK), Vijayawada created the Silicon Amaravati App under the guidance of K. Anitha, HOD of Computer Department. The app was unveiled by Gadde Anuradha, Zilla Parishad Chairman. Pearson Company, Hyderabad funded the app and provided technical support.

The app provides information about movies and employment to people without Wi-Fi and internet connection. Addressing the students, Gadde Anuradha said that Amaravati would become the Information Technology (IT) hub within a short period. A digital revolution is going to take place in the new capital region of Andhra Pradesh, and it would provide employment opportunities to the students of the present generation. The app will inspire the students of other colleges too, and she hoped that students would come up with more useful apps in the coming days.

Y. Ratna Kumar, Managing Director of Y Screens who was also present at the unveiling ceremony of app motivated the students to think innovatively and inspire them to become entrepreneurs.

T. Vijaya Lakshmi, Principal of SDMSMK, thanked the Pearson Company for conducting a seven-day mobile application development workshop on the college campus. The workshop focused on creating Silicon Amaravati App (SAA) and install the application on mobile. She further added that SAA would provide information relating to public service. She appreciated the students and T. Anitha for developing the app. The college has taken the first step for boosting ‘Digital Amaravati’ initiative.
