SWOT Analysis for DAVV Concluded by NAAC Peer Team
A NAAC peer team has been able to complete a SWOT analysis at DAVV, pointing to several challenges and suggestions that the institute should implement to grow. Among the hurdles mentioned, good faculty and international collaborations are some of the biggest hurdles to be faced by DAVV.
The National Assessment and Accreditation Council have recently concluded its inspection process of the Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV). A peer team for DAVV had concluded the SWOT or Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threat analysis on Saturday, 23rd November 2019.
The SWOT analysis and report revealed that the biggest challenges that will be faced by DAVV will be the recruitment of good faculty and international partnerships. The team had also forwarded different academic suggestions along with the report.
The Vice-Chancellor of DAVV, Dr Renu Jain, spoke with the media with this regard, announcing that they have been satisfied with the manner that the inspection had been undertaken. She also added that the DAVV is expected to have fared well during the inspection.
Dr Jain further mentioned that the peer team suggested that DAVV should launch courses on Artificial Intelligence (AI). She stated that DAVV will be looking into implementing the suggestions that have been forwarded by the team, including starting AI courses.
A panel of eight members for the peer team had been formed, which conducted the inspection. The team had been working on developing the report since the evening of 22nd November 2019. The team had submitted a copy of the report to the DAVV Vice-Chancellor by Saturday afternoon.
Dr. Renu Jain had given her final nod to the figures that had been mentioned in the report. Following her approval, a final report had been submitted to Dr Renu Jain in a sealed envelope by the team during their exit meeting.
The Team had pointed towards some of the critical challenges that will be faced by DAVV, which included good faculty and the drawing international students to its programmes, which will be huge hurdles for the administration at DAVV.

Further suggestions also included that DAVV should also impart communication skills among the students. The Spokesperson at DAVV, Dr. Chandran Gupta spoke to the media and stated that the team had been impressed with the participation from the alumni, but the institution needs to set up an alumni portal as well.

The team also suggested that DAVV should include an NMR machine in their labs, which has also been absent from premier institutes like IITs. The NAAC Grade for DAVV is expected to be released within a span of one month, at the latest.
