Situated at Nawabi Road Haldwani. Govt. Girls Degree College, the first and the only Govt. girl institution in Uttarakhand, was established in the year 1996 with seven subjects in Arts faculty at graduation level. Today it is delivering higher education at UG level in three faculties namely Arts, Science and Commerce besides one vocational Course P.G. Diploma in Yoga and Alternative Therapy introduced in the year 2008. The college is listed under Section 2 (f) and 12 (B) of the UGC Act and is accreditated by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), India in November 2010.The college has been awarded 'B' grade by NAAC. The faculty members have been engaged in imparting quality education to students are attending regularly the seminars, conferences, symposia, personality development courses, workshops etc.Students are also given opportunities to develop their personalities through active participation is extra-curricular and extension activities organised by the college. The institution is marching ahead on the path of progress and has bright prospects.Phasewise introduction of post-graduate classes in all the three faculties viz. Arts, Commerce and Science. Development of capability among students at all levels viz. knowledge of core subjects, professional subjects, sports, extension services etc. so as to compete successfully at local,regional,national and international arenas.
