Maximum Queries Regarding Abroad Admissions Received by Hyderabad; Chennai Follows

A study was conducted recently by Sulekha, an online expert service provider platform. It declared that the number of students aspiring for pursuing higher education abroad is increasing every year by 20 per cent.

Indian queries about Abroad Admissions

The demand for pursuing higher education abroad is becoming increasingly popular among Indian students with every passing academic session. More and more Indian students aim to get admission to some of the top universities abroad for various courses. Several agencies have conducted surveys that have confirmed this trend time and again. One such agency is Sulekha who carried out this study recently.

Sulekha is a leading tech Artificial Intelligence (AI) platform that offers expert services. It conducted a study recently regarding Indian students seeking admission for higher studies abroad and the study revealed that Hyderabad and Chennai are the top Indian cities with the maximum number of queries for overseas admission.

The platform for expert services, Sulekha, revealed that a total of 8,171 requests about queries regarding abroad admissions were sent from Hyderabad and it was followed by Chennai with as many as 5,013 requests. The third place is taken by Delhi from where 4,694 requests were sent. The courses that garnered maximum queries about admissions overseas from the aspiring Indian students were (B.Tech), Journalism, Master of Business Administration (MBA), Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Medicine, Hotel Management, Aviation, etc.

It was declared in the study that the maximum number of requests were received for admission in the universities and colleges of Canada. There were 19,849 requests regarding admissions in Canada and it was followed by Germany which received 12,979 requests. The United States of America was given the third position as there were a total of 11,961 queries regarding admissions in the US. Another interesting fact that was uncovered was that from September 2018 to September 2019, the total requests received from Tamil Nadu alone were as many as 7,127.

The founder and CEO of Sulekha, Mr. Satya Prabhakar, later pointed out that according to the data delivered by the study, it is concluded that the number of Indian students aspiring to pursue higher education from foreign countries has been witnessing an increase of about 20 percent every year.

Prabhakar also said that students have been imposed with visa restrictions in countries like the US and UK in the last few years. Therefore, Canada has emerged as the country which is the most sought after destination of Indian students for pursuing higher education overseas. The entire study is based on the site visits received by Sulekha across all the cities of India in the last one year. All data has been derived on the basis of the information received by the app in a year’s time.

The study further stated that 60 percent of the total online search was contributed by tier 1 cities with about 32,000 requests. The requests contributed by tier 2 and tier 3 cities were 11,000 and 10,000 respectively. The queries regarding admissions in foreign countries are at their peak during the abroad admission season which starts from the month of September and goes on till December.
