MBBS course in India can be completed in 5.5 years. It includes 4.5 years of academic education and 1 year of mandatory internship. Students who have completed 12th with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as the mandatory subjects are eligible to apply for MBBS course. Eligibility Criteria to Study MBBS in India

Entry to medical colleges in India is done on the basis of the marks scored in the entrance examination. However, the student must first meet the minimum eligibility criteria to apply for MBBS programme in one of the colleges. The eligibility criteria are listed below:

  • The student must have completed 12th from CBSE/ CISCE or state board

  • The mandatory subjects in Class 12th should be Biology, Physics and Chemistry

There is no specific admission procedure for MBBS in India. The admission of the candidate is based on the entrance examination and the marks scored in the examination. There is no specific application process to apply for MBBS abroad. Students who meet the minimum eligibility criteria can apply directly at the abroad medical universities of his/ her choice. In case the study qualifies for admission, an invitation letter will be sent to the student via email.

The student can now prepare for the required documents like an official transcript, medical insurance, visa, etc., as per the requirement of the university.

Finally, the candidate can book the tickets and register for classes at the university.

One of the important factors considered while planning to study MBBS from abroad is the cost of study. The tuition fees for MBBS course varies country- wise. Studying MBBS from countries like USA, UK, Australia, New Zealand may be costlier as the expense can go beyond INR 1 crore.
