Admission Process Commenced at Local Colleges in Vijayawada
After a summer gap of nearly two months, the Undergraduate colleges in Vijayawada are seen abuzz with activity. Parents and students are lined up to acquire admissions in the local colleges for B.Sc (Bachelor of Sciences) and B.A (Bachelor of Arts) in local colleges under various disciplines.
This year there is a lot of demand for B.Sc. course at various colleges as most of the aspirants of EAMCET stayed back to join degree course rather than joining Engineering colleges. There has been a slight decrease in the number of aspirants appeared for EAMCET this year. The local degree colleges are also offering campus placements for students on par with engineering colleges. Various companies like Wipro, TCS and Infosys conduct placement drives at degree colleges too and recruit B.Sc. graduates.
As the heat waves have been subsidized for a while in Vijayawada, college administrations have opened up admissions for the academic year. Heat waves and scorching sun have played spoilsport in the admissions and enrollment procedure of undergraduate colleges until the first week of May. Luckily, for aspirants, seats in very famous institutions are available in ample.
Rev.Fr. GAP Kishore, Principal of Andhra Loyola College said that, “We made a lot of negotiations and discussions with higher authorities regarding the admission schedule due to the heat wave in the first week of May. The management has decided to commence admissions in the second week of May and admissions are going on in a brisk phase”.
Mrs. T. Vijayalakshmi, Principal of Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala said, “The admissions picked up in the second week of May. Until the last of April and first week of May the admissions were very less. But now, we are very busy with the heavy rush of applications and the rush may continue till the first week of June”.

- Maris Stella College,
- Montessori Mahila College,
- P B Siddhartha College of Arts and Science,
- Andhra Loyola College,
- Triveni Degree College,
- Satya Sai Degree College
- Kakatiya Degree college and
- SRR & CVR Government Degree College
The above colleges are the total number of Arts and Science college sin Vijayawada. Among them Triveni Degree College, Satya Sai Degree College and Kakatiya Degree College offer only B.Com courses. The rest of the colleges offer B.Sc./BA/B.Com/BBM courses. The admission process will end in the first week of June. The classes will commence from the second week of June.
