 African Students' Meet 2016 at Symbiosis University  a Grand Sucess

The Symbiosis Centre for International Education and Symbiosis International Students Council organized an African Students Meet 2016 recently which saw the whole hearted participation of the students and teachers .

The meet was very significant in the aftermath of the recent incidence of violence against African nationals in Delhi.
Hundreds of African Students from various colleges in Pune attended the event and exchanged their views and felt relieved after attending the session.

"The Pune Police will start a students' facilitation centre at Symbiosis International University's Senapati Bapat Road campus in this month. It will help the students in getting done hassle-free Foreign Registration Office (FRO) verification from students of foreign countries. Students will be able to communicate with the police officials instead of going to police stations and face trouble. The new centre will be handled by officials along with an Indian student representative fluent in English as to avoid language problem,” said an official from the Symbiosis.

“ We have also urged the African students, to preserve their culture and at the same time respect the culture of the city thy are living at present and not indulge in any activities that may offend local residents,” said the same official.

While reminding the students their duty and aims in life Alem Tsehaye Woldemariam , ambassador, Embassy of Eritrea said, “ Be focused on your studies and academics. The time you are spending here is most valuable time and you will take back the knowledge gathered here, into your home country and use it for the development of your country. Every student is an ambassador of the country he/she belongs to. Try to give a positive picture of your country.”
"It is our vision at Symbiosis to promote international understanding through quality education. The city has a enriched history of foreign students living here and they feel at home at Symbiosis. The facilities will not be limited to students from Symbiosis only, foreign national from neighbouring colleges and universities can also avail this facility,” said Vidya Yeravdekar.

Present on the occasion were Vidya Yeravdekar , Symbiosis Society, Alem Tsehaye Woldemariam , ambassador, Embassy of Eritrea, Dean of the African Heads of Mission, Rashmi Shukla, commissioner of police, Pune, S.B. Mujumdar, founder, and president, Symbiosis to name a few.
