Highlights: According to US News Education World Report the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is ranked higher than the Delhi University and is second to the Punjab

According to US News Education World Report the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is ranked higher than the Delhi University and is second to the Punjab University in the list of overall Best Global Universities rankings. In the list the AMU is followed by Banaras Hindu University.

The factors taken into account while deciding the rankings of the universities is the research performance of the universities as well as their ratings by members of the academic community around the world.

The rankings are displayed on the US News Education’s website www.usnews.com. Through the publication of these rankings the US News Education highly recommends the students to consider AMU and the other top Indian universities as far as attending the higher education is concerned.

The other Indian institutes that feature on the list are Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore; Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay; Indian Institute of Technology, Madras; Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur and the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur as the top ten institutes of India.

The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) conducted an assessment exercise at the AMU campus and awarded it a grade ‘A’.
