The Andhra Pradesh EAMCET Medicine Counselling is likely to be held from the second week of July. The counselling will be conducted by AP Council for higher education in collaboration with Dr NTR University of Health Exams. The Andhra Pradesh EAMCET examination was held on 9-April-2016. The results for engineering were declared in the first week of may. The results of the medical exam were delayed due to supreme court’s decision over NEET. The results for medical examination were released in the second week of May.
The counselling includes verification of certificates, opting colleges through web counselling and seat allotment. Some of the private medical colleges of Andhra Pradesh requested for the extra seats to the Medical council of India (MCI). These colleges are:-
- Viswa Bharathi Medical College, Kurnool – 100 Seats.
- NRI Medical College, Visakhapatnam – 150 Seats
- Maha Raja Medical College, Vizayanagaram – 150 Seats
- Fatima Medical College, Kadapa – 100 Seats
If the MCI grants seats for these colleges 200 extra seats will be added to the convenor quota (Category- A) and 250 extra seats under management quota (Category-B). There would be no changes for the number of seats in Government Medical Colleges. The management seats will be filled after the announcement of NEET results on July 24, 2016.
