The Chinese Government Scholarship is offered to students who are willing to take up UG, Master’s, Doctoral, General Scholar and Senior Scholar programmes. March 11, 2019, is the deadline to submit online applications for Chinese Government Scholarship 2019-20.
The Government of China has opened online applications to award Chinese Government Scholarship 2019-20. The Government of China is offering the scholarship under the bilateral programme for pursuing higher studies/ specialisation/ research. The Chinese Government Scholarship is offered to students who are willing to take up UG, Master’s, Doctoral, General Scholar and Senior Scholar programmes. Interested and eligible Indian students can apply to scholarship programme in any of the following streams: -
- Humanities and Social Sciences
- Science (Pure & Applied)
- Language and Literature
Eligibility Criteria for Chinese Government Scholarship 2019-20: -
- Candidates applying to scholarship programme for pursuing UG course must be a high school graduate (Class 12 pass out). The upper age limit for UG courses is 25 years. Therefore, the applicants must be below 25 years of age.
- Candidates aspiring to join the Master’s course must hold a UG or Bachelor’s degree. The applicants must be below 35 years of age.
- Candidates applying to scholarship scheme for pursuing Doctoral course must have a Master’s degree. The applicants must be below 40 years of age.
- Candidates aspiring to take up the General Scholarship programme must be below 45 years of age and have completed at least two years of UG study.
- Applicants of the Senior Scholarship programme must be under the age of 50 years. The applicant must be either an associate professor or a master’s degree holder.
- All the applicants must have a minimum of 60% per cent in the qualifying exam.

Students can apply to the scholarship programme through the official website of MHRD (Ministry of Human Resource Development). After registering through MHRD website, the candidates will also have to apply online through the China Scholarship Council website.
