Assam Engineering College Guwahati invites applications for admission into 1st Semester Class of the two year Master of Engineering (M.E.) programme in the following Departments of Assam Engineering College for the session 2016-17
A. Civil Engineering
Specialization: a) Geotechnical Engineering b) Water Resources Engineering
B. Mechanical Engineering
Specialization: Mechanical Engineering
C. Electrical Engineering
Specialization: Power Systems
Eligibility:
Bachelor degree holders in respective Engineering discipline from any AICTE approved Institution with a minimum of 55% marks for General and OBC/MOBC Category and 50% marks for SC and ST category Candidates are eligible for admission. Valid GATE score will be considered in preparation of the Final Merit List. Having valid (2015 & 2016) and Qualified (Score above the cut-off for respective Category) GATE Score will be an added advantage for the candidates but is not a mandatory criterion. Candidates appearing in their final examination may also apply but they must have to produce their Original Mark sheet along with Pass Certificate of the Final Degree Examination on the day of Admission.
Selection Procedure:
An Admission Test will be held for selection of candidates. The Test will be of three hour duration. There will be 100 MCQ type questions. Four marks will be awarded for every correct answer and one mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. The final Merit List will be prepared by adding valid (2015 & 2016) & Qualified (Score above the cut-off for respective Category) GATE Score (Out of 100) with the marks scored in the Admission Test. No marks will be added to those candidates who do not have valid and qualified GATE Score. Reservation of Seats will be made as per existing Norms
Application Procedure:
Candidates are to apply online for appearing in the Test at www.aec.ac.in. After applying online, candidates will have to send the hard copy of the downloaded print out of the Application Form along with a Bank Draft of Rs. 1000/- drawn in favour of ‘Principal, AEC, SW Fund’ payable at Guwahati through Speed Post to the following address:

Student may directly deposit the form and the Bank Draft at the Office of Principal, Assam Engineering College.
Hall Ticket/ Admit Card may be downloaded online by entering the Application Number and their date of birth.

Issue of Admit Card starts on: 25th June 2016
Date of Examination: 3rd July 2016
