The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIM-K) is going to hold its three days annual management festival—‘Backwaters 2015 on the institute campus from October 30 to November 1 with plethora of activities.
“There will be variety of competition in different disciplines through a series of gruelling tasks to test their diverse skills and operational excellence. The campus unit of TEDx will also host its talk series on the theme, ‘Uncharted Territory’ as part of the event on November 1. Arunabh Das Sharma, current president of Times Group, Archana Sardana, India’s first woman civilian-base jumper and deep sea diver, Malvika Iyer, bomb-blast survivor, social worker and motivational speaker, V. .S Sudhakar, co-founder of Big Basket and founder of “More” under Aditya Birla Group, will be some of the speakers at the TEDx event,” informed an official of IIM-K.
“Backwaters will also hold a special programme called ‘Shiksha,’ where students from under-graduate colleges and schools get an opportunity to interact with and get career guidance from eminent IIM professors, professionals and motivational speakers,” added the same official.
Students will also be able to test their acumen in various disciplines of management through different events such as, Tek-Quest by Abakus-the technology interest group, Stratagem by Konsult-the consulting interest group, On-The-Mark by mPower-the marketing interest group and Konflict Management by HRiday-the HR interest group. There will also be online events Pips n Profit (online trading competition), Spice Route (online quiz) and Optimus (supply chain simulation game).
When it cultural night there will be performances by Vir Das who will be performing along with his band, Alien Chutney and Celio, leading stand-up comedian, movie-star and singer on first day. Raeth, a sufi pop rock band will also be performing on the campus on November 1.
