Yesterday i.e. 16th August’ 16, the governors of IKGPTU which is the I K Gujral Punjab Technical University announced that CAG will audit the university. The University of Jalandhar took this decision during its 62nd board meeting. CAG is the Comptroller and Auditor General of India that possesses the authority to audit the government and organisations funded by the government. The BOG i.e. Board of Governors made this announcement because the audit is long due and it also includes some NGOs which is Non-Governmental Organisations and some other quarters.

The Chairman of IKGPTU Board and Cheif Secretary Government of Punjab, IAS Sarvesh Kaushal administered the meeting in which this CAG topic was discussed along with other issues. One of the other topics discussed was faculty, there is a shortage of approved faculty so 31 teachers were approved in the meeting.

The CAG audit is taking place because the financial instability is visible and fingers are pointed at the university as there are financial malpractices going on.
