In order to implement Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS) at various colleges and universities, important steps have been taken by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
Universities and colleges will now have to submit data regarding the implementation of CBCS to UGC. Students will now be given the flexibility to pursue career options depending on their choice in the form of electives. This decision will help make the students all-rounders in every field and will also broaden their horizons.
According to UGC secretary Jaspal Sandhu, CBCS was introduced over a year ago and since then, many institutions have shown interest in implementing the same and have welcomed the same at their universities.
CBCS will soon be introduced in every college affiliated to the Shivaji University board of colleges said director D R More. Also, the college has the required permissions and approvals regarding the same.
