After receiving many requests from the students, Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore has extended the deadline for submitting the application forms for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2016 till September 27, 2016. Earlier, the institute announced that the last date for submitting application forms was September 22, 2016.

The primary intention behind extending the date is that most of the students are still in the process of completing their applications. Rajendra K Bandi, Convenor of CAT 2016 said that there are many incomplete applications as per records and the institute has been receiving requests from the students to extend the deadline. He mentioned that a total number of 2.08 lakh candidates have submitted the applications so far. The number of applicants is expected to increase in the coming three days. Last year, only 1.83 lakh students had applied for the test.

The applicants have the choice to select any four test centres to take the examination. However, test cities and centres will be allotted to the candidates only after the last date of registration. The admit cards will be available for download from October 18 to December 4, 2016.
The candidates who are still waiting to apply for CAT 2016 shall do so, as early as possible, to avoid last minute rush.
