The Common Admissions Test (CAT) registrations are currently underway from 5 August to 16 September 2020. The candidates who are filling up the CAT application form are required to submit a number of documents required for CAT application. These include the category certificates for candidates belonging to the reserved categories such as SC, ST, NC-OBC, SC, ST and PwD.
However, during the times of COVID-19, it is just not possible for candidates to gather all of the required documents or certificate from the concerned authorities in. Hence, CAT has provided an alternative way for the candidates to c complete the CAT registration process without the need to submit all of the updated documents in the application.
|September 15, 2020:The deadline for application in CAT 2020 has been extended to September 23, 2020, 5:00 PM. This has been done to counter the disruptions caused by COVID-19 and to give candidates more time to procure their documents.|
CAT has allowed reserved category candidates to submit an Undertaking along with the application form. In this Undertaking, candidates accept that they are not able to submit the certificates issued by a complement authority and the same will be submitted at the time of the Personal Interview. The format of this Undertaking has been made available by CAT and can be downloaded from the link given below.

Candidates can either take a printout of this Undertaking format, fill up the required details and upload it in the application form or submit a handwritten declaration based on the given format. Candidates must also submit any available category certificates (old certificates) along with this undertaking in a single PDF file.
This provision has been added by IIMs only for CAT 2020. Candidates who fail to produce the relevant certificate at the time of the interview will not be granted admission and will be disqualified from the process.
