Manish Sisodia claims CBSE Delhi Government School Results 2019 Best in 21 years

The education minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia has announced that the pass percentage of Delhi Government Schools has touched record in 21 years. 203 Delhi government schools had 100 percent pass percentage.

The education minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia has claimed on Friday that the results of Delhi government schools have improved and the results were the best in the past 21 years. The claim by Manish Sisodia came just after the day the Central Board of Secondary Education released their 2019 CBSE results and statistics. The education minister of Delhi has claimed that the result percentage this year at Delhi Government schools in CBSE 2019 has gone up by 3.6 percent. The CBSE has published that the pass percentage of Delhi Government schools has touched 94.24% this year.

The education minister of Delhi has said that 203 schools of Delhi Government have 100% pass percentage this year while addressing the media. He also presented the historical data which shows the pass percentage this year is at 3.6% higher than 90.64% pass percentage of Delhi Government schools last year.

The CBSE data shows that there has been a constant improvement from 2015, the year when the Aam Aadmi Party or AAP formed the state government in Delhi. The pass percentage of Delhi government schools in 2017 was 88.2%, in 2016, it was, 87.72%. Giving the track record of more previous years, Manish Sisodia said that the pass percentage of CBSE 2015 was 88%. The pass percentage of Delhi Government Schools never in history exceeded 60% mark before 2017. The pass percentage touched 87.15% in 2009 and from then, the percentage hovered around the same number.

As claimed by Sisodia, there are many students who are the first generation of learning in their family and they are coming largely to the government schools which is a big achievement. The percentage of girl students in Delhi government schools has also increased. The participation of girl students has led more to improved pass percentage of girl students. 96.30% of girl students passed from Delhi government schools in 2019. The number went up from 94.1% of 2018. The pass percentage of boys is capped at 91.48% although it is a remarkable improvement from the previous year’s 85.98%.

Manish Sisodia announced with joy that the Delhi government Schools not only performed better than the capital’s average but also outnumbered the country’s pass percentage with a big gap. The overall pass percentage of Delhi State this year in CBSE 2019 is 91.87% and the country stands far low with the pass percentage of 83.4%.

The top 3 positions of Delhi government schools were secured by 3 girls who belonged from the Arts and Humanities streams. There is one boy also in the top 3 positions.

The topper from Delhi government school, Sana scored 488 marks out of 500 (97.6%) and she belonged from Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya 2 of Jama Masjid. The second topper Gyan Kaur is from Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya of Ramesh Nagar. She scored 485 out of 500 (97%). There are two students who secured the third position. Nikita Dahiya of Rajkiya Pratibha Vikas Vidyalaya, Dwarka and Naman Gupta of Government Co-ed School, Najafgarh. Naman is the topper from science stream from Delhi government schools and the only boy who made it to the top 3 ranks from Delhi government schools in CBSE 2019. They both scored 483 out of 500 which is 96% according to percentile.

Manish Sisodia said that 1,29,917 students attempted CBSE 2019 from Delhi Government school from which, 1,22,428 students passed the examinations.

Speaking about the stream based pass percentage he revealed that the pass percentage of Commerce Students are the lowest at 89.31%, followed by Arts which saw 95.05% and Science Students triumphed the pass percentage chart with 97.55%.

The schools which scored more than 90% under Delhi government increased to 732 from 638 out of 2018 and 554 in 2017. He blamed the central government for not approving new land for new schools. For this reason, many schools were forced to run in shifts of morning and evening in a common building.
