CBSE class 12th results 2019 were announced last week and the admission process for UG courses has begun. According to the reports, students are breaking the stereotype and opting for new career choices. In one of the top colleges of Chennai, 17000 application forms have been submitted for B.Com and BBA courses. The demand for commerce courses this year is way higher as compared to others. The cut-off percentage for B.Com and BBA courses at Chennai colleges is more than 90%.
The college officials informed that they are yet to finalise the CBE cut off and the seats are equally distributed among CBSE and matriculation students. The demand for commerce courses is way higher as compared to the previous year. One of the main reason is that the education system India is evolving and students are looking forward to new career options and breaking the stereotype.
Harshita who has cleared CBSE class 12th board exams said that the scope for B.Com Marketing and Management course is way better than other courses. According to her, the competition this year is so tough as even after securing 92 %, getting into top colleges in Chennai will not be easy.
Chennai is evolving in terms of higher education as the students are looking forward to more creative career options. They are just not sticking to undergraduate courses in Science stream but are experimenting with Arts courses such as photography, media studies, design, hospitality, a painting which helps the student to broaden their horizon enhance their creative skills.
