Students Securing Above 95% Twice as That of Last Year in CBSE Class 10 Results

The Central Board of Secondary Education announced the class 10th results on 6th May 2019, Monday. The percentage of students securing above 95% marks has soared this year and is the double of what it was last year.

Students Securing Above 95% Twice as That of Last Year in CBSE Class 10 Results

The CBSE class 10 result 2019 was announced on 6th May 2019. The number of students to become the top scorers in the CBSE class 10th examination has soared this year.

Last year, 27,426 students had crossed the mark of scoring above 95 percent marks. The number has increased by 108 percent this year with 57,256 students crossing the mark. Apart from that, there were more students who scored a full 100 in social sciences rather than in Mathematics or Science which are said to be the “traditionally scoring” subjects.

Thirteen students topped the CBSE class 10th exams by getting 499 marks out of 500 and six out of them were from Delhi-NCR. The second rank was shared by 25 students across India who scored 498 marks out of 500. Among the 59 students who secured the third all India rank with 497 marks out of 500, six belonged to Delhi.

A total number of 11,260 students scored a perfect 100 in the subjects of social science whereas 9,614 scored 100 marks in mathematics and 2,872 students in science. In the language subjects, a total of 2,758 students secured full marks in Sanskrit, 1,820 students got full marks in Hindi, and 2, 276 secured a 100 in English.

The Head of Sarvodaya Vidyalaya school in Rohini, Awadesh Kar Jha, said that the question papers of social sciences were easier than the maths and science papers this year. A teacher of Social Studies at Army Public School, Neelam Segan, said that the increased exposure of students to political and social activities has played a role in them scoring well. Students are aware that they want to be more politically and socially active in today’s world and they believe they can bring about a change by pursuing humanities.

The pass percentage in Delhi region is 80.97 percent this year, which is 2.35 percent higher than the overall percentage of last year. Delhi stood 9th in the ranking of region-wise performance this year.
