COMED-K or Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka has extended the dates for the second round counselling process which was to close on July 30, 2017. Considering the requests made by parents and students to extend the counselling dates, Admission Overseeing Committee has ordered COMED-K to extend the counselling dates until August 5, 2017.
The second round counselling is also called as the extended second round of counselling. However, the extended dates are applicable to students who accepted the allotments in the second round. These students can upgrade their colleges (if necessary), for which August 5, 2017, is the deadline.

According to an official notification of COMED-K, candidates who participated in the second round are eligible to participate in the extended second round counselling. Options filled by the students during the counselling process will be used for the seat allotment. On the other hand, the candidates who did not secure admission in the second round can fill as many as options. These candidates must pay the entire tuition fee if they get admission.
August 7, 2017, is the last reporting date for the candidates who secured admission in the second extended round. The candidates must complete the entire admission formalities within the stipulated date and time frame.

Following the orders of Supreme Court, COMED-K will not conduct subsequent rounds of counselling after this. Parents and students were worried about the decision of the Supreme Court which directed COMED-K to complete the engineering admissions by July 31, 2017.
