DAVV Convocation to be Held on March 23, Highlights

The convocation ceremony of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) is going to be held on 23 March 2020. In the ceremony, 191 students will be awarded gold medals and 22 students will be awarded silver medals for showing academic excellence in their respective disciplines.

DAVV Convocation To Be Held on March 23

The convocation ceremony of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), Indore is scheduled to be held on 23 March 2020. In the convocation ceremony, a total of 233 medals will be awarded to two batches of students who have completed postgraduate study from DAVV.

The medals will be awarded to students who have shown excellence in academics during their study at DAVV. In the list of students who are due to receive awards from the institute on the convocation ceremony are 100 gold medal and 12 silver medal winners from the 2017-18 batch and 91 gold medal and 12 silver medal winners from 2018-19 batch. The university is yet to finalize the list of award winners from the PhD batch of DAVV.

A spokesperson from the institution has informed that students have been given a 10-day window to register themselves for the convocation ceremony and pay the requisite degree-fee of Rs. 310. The last day to apply is 16 March. Students who register and pay the fee after March 16 will be charged Rs. 100 extra and can do so till 19 March. The fee payment can be done via Demand Draft (DD) created in the name of the registrar and depositing it at the university office.

In light of the recent Coronavirus cases being reported in India, Dr Reenu Jain, the Vice-Chancellor of DAVV, has given assurance that the university is also taking all the precautionary measures provided by UGC. Sanitizers will be provided at the auditorium entrance for the students and the guests. Plus, a team of doctors will be available on the spot for the immediate care of any person demonstrating any symptom.

She added that the university may cancel the programme only if said instructions come from the Governor. Since the ceremony is being arranged at very short notice, preparation work for the convocation ceremony is being done at full pace.
