Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal informed that Delhi Sports University will offer field-specific degrees to the sports enthusiasts. This sports university will grant students with a degree in sports such as football, hockey, cricket etc.

Arvind Kejriwal Delhi Chief Minister announced that a Sports University will be set up in Delhi which will offer field-specific degrees to interested candidates. These fields specific degrees will be at par with other graduates, postgraduates and doctoral degrees.
While addressing a press conference he informed that the proposal for setting up of Delhi Sports University (DSU) has been approved. Kejriwal further informed that this is a finance Bill, due to which the file will be sent to the lieutenant governor (L-G) for approval.
He further informed that earlier a sportsperson was not very sure about his future. This was mainly because if the person is unable to build a career in sports, they will not be able to secure a job as every job requires at least a graduation degree. Delhi Sports University will not only grant the sports enthusiasts with a degree in sports such as hockey, football, cricket and others. The DSU will be one of its kind university in India.

The DSU Bill also grants the proposed university the right to set up constituent colleges and schools. The sports schools will groom budding sports enthusiasts at an early stafe so that they are able to follow their dreams.

At last, he also informed that they are still working on course curriculum, struture and duration of the graduation. The Delhi Sports University (DSU) Bill defined the legal and administrative structure of the varsity.Many industry experts will be involved in designing the curriculum of the courses.
Establishment of Delhi Sports University will provide sports aspirants with an opportunity to pursue their passion and make a career in the sports.
