Don Bosco University Assam Organises 7th Convocation Ceremony

Don Bosco University Assam has made a tremendous change in the quality of higher education for the northeast students and through its efforts, education in the state has become affordable for the students belonging to the weaker sections of the society.

The governor of Assam, Professor Jagadish Mukhi appreciated the efforts of Don Bosco University while addressing its 7th convocation ceremony. He believed that Don Bosco University deserves praise for making higher education affordable and making it professional for the weaker sections.

A total of 766 degrees were conferred to the students of Don Bosco University Assam out of which 177 were for the engineering course students alone. Apart from that, as a part of the distance education division of the university, 324 students from 44 different countries were also conferred degrees in a variety of disciplines. Along with the degrees, 17 students were also awarded gold medals for showcasing extraordinary performance in academics and subsequently earning the highest cumulative grade point average.

Prof. Mukhi further elaborated that at present, half of India's population is under 25 years of age and by the year 2020, it is expected that the country will have the largest workforce with a median age of 29 years. India will soon become the youngest country in the world with respect to the workforce.

The governor praised all the graduating students from Don Bosco University who put in all their efforts and have finally achieved the milestone. He also congratulated the parents for their children making them proud. He also said that youth power will definitely add to the future of the nation.
