Assam Don Bosco University, based in Guwahati, Assam, India, is the state's first private institution.  According to NIRF, it is the best private institution in North East India. The NAAC has given ADBU an "A Grade" accreditation mark.

Assam Don Bosco University is a co-educational, state-owned, non-profit Catholic research university in India. The Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB) formed the university on March 29, 2008, and the Don Bosco Society, Azara, Guwahati, carried it through. The Assam Don Bosco University Act, 2009, was passed on January 9, 2009, and the university was founded under the Assam Private Universities Act 2007.

Assam Don Bosco University Admission Dates 2023

The Assam Don Bosco University provides B. Tech in five specialties and B. Tech lateral entrance. Passing the 10+2 test with at least 45 percent aggregate marks and Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry as required courses is the minimum requirement for B. Tech. Candidates for B. Tech lateral entry must hold a diploma or a B.Sc. degree in a related discipline from an AICTE-approved university.

The merit in the qualifying examination and entrance test, i.e., JEE Main/state entrance test/Don Bosco University Graduate Entrance Test, is used to choose students for first-year B.Tech. The candidate's performance in the Assam Don Bosco University Graduate Entrance Test will determine admission to the second year of B.Tech (DBU-GET).

Assam Don Bosco University provides undergraduate programs in BCA, Integrated BCA, BA, and B. Com. Psychology, Mass Communication, English, and Education are the four specialties available. The admissions procedure works on a first-come, first-served basis. Passing 10+2 with at least 50% aggregate marks for B. The application process for graduate and post-graduate programs at the Assam don Bosco University is similar and can be completed online and offline. Scholarship Based on Economic Status: 

Under this Assam Don Bosco University Scholarship program, INR 10,000/- is donated to various UG and PG students.

  • Eligibility: 

The Gross family income of the awardee should be less than 2,00,000 annually (A certificate to be presented) to be eligible for this scholarship program.

  • Requirements for Continuation: 

These scholarships are awarded per semester. The awardees continue to get this scholarship in their next semesters if they do not get any ‘F’ grade in any subject in the previous semester. If it happens, the scholarship will be stopped.

Scholarship based on Disability

All Graduate and Post Graduate Programmes at the Assam Don Bosco University holding a Certificate of Disability from the Indian Government are eligible to get several rs. 10,000 per semester. Scholarship Scheme (for online and distance education students)

The University has announced the following Scholarships for its Online and Distance Education Programs:

  • Samarthan – Defence – Serving / Retired members of the Defence Services of India are entitled to a Scholarship amounting to 25% of the Tuition/Academic Fees. Dependent Children or a Spouse of a Serving Member is entitled to the same extent.

The Library of ADB University is now partially automated with Koha ILMS for operating its housekeeping system, an integrated network connected to all the three campuses providing access to e-catalog & e-resource.

IT facilities – The University furnishes its students with state of the art, well-furnished computer labs, with more than 500 computers networked using Linux; a computing center with Internet permitted computers to assist the day-to-day computing requirements of students; two language labs furnished with student consoles and software and digitalized audio and video equipment to cultivate interactive language skills. While the Assam Don Bosco University promotes Free and Open Source Software usage, Legal Microsoft software is provided to the staff members and students under MSDN Academic Alliance.

High-Speed Internet Connectivity and Link to NNK - Don Bosco University enjoys a high-speed 1Gbps internet bandwidth permit, according to the universities coming under the National Knowledge Network (NKN). This massive bandwidth provides access to many libraries, archived lectures of various IITs, online lectures, virtual classrooms, and many other facilities available under NKN.

ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) - ERP implementation within Assam Don Bosco University Campus has ensured that all procedures within the university are computerized and the information is readily accessible to authorized users. Overall: M.com course has been one of the major courses being provide by the university. I’m Very much pleased to say that the services and the education given by the department of commerce is very fruitful and Practical. i have been doing M.com in order to learn in broader manner about the commerce and its related subjects.All my curriculum has been updated and includes in the recent developments in the field, that makes me ready for any job in related to commerce

Placement: Different private companies come to the college for the placement drive.They strictly follow the recruitment process and hire the qualified students for the designated post. So far,Placement facilities in the college is good and it provides maximum opportunities for the students to prosper soon after their graduations.

Infrastructure: Moreover the Assam Donbosco University Provides a quality education for the students of different states of Northeast. It has a good infrastructure and all the facilities that the students can easily Completed their task and assigned work with a good grades and Sufficient knowledge in the field

Faculty: The University has 229 faculty, out of which there are 132 PhD holders, 97 Master Degree holders, 150 regular and 79 adjunct. There are 48 Professors, 49 Associate Professors and 132 Assistant Professors.

Hostel: There are at present nine hostels in the University campus. The hostels are : four for boys and five for girls students having approximately 749 single and shared room accommodation. The Hostels are furnished with basic facilities, Hostel seats are limited and every student may not get the seat in hostel.

Overall: I would say that if there is any of improving the way of teaching it would be much better for students it's not like they are teaching with their best efforts,they do. Simply it's my opinion

Infrastructure: Recently the university has updated about the infrastructure including changing of black board to smart tv so it's developing day by day so it's a good thing.

Faculty: The faculty members are giving their best efforts I know I don't have much since its a college i all depends on us since we are all grown up so the rest is upto us

Overall: The faculty is reallly goood. There are many clubs and the teachers provide learning materials properly and there are projectors in every class. Hostels are decent nothing great. there is no mess but many Restraunts inside the campus and the campus is very huge and preety

Placement: the placements thing is written quite briefly in the website of assam don bosco university which you can easily check out. the teachers also help with the placements in big renowned companies

Infrastructure: Very big campus and a lot of blocks belonging to different degrees. The wifi is not that good tho. there's a gym, church , courts for basketball and football.

Faculty: the teachers and faculty is the best thing of this university perhaps because the faculty is very friendly and helping. they are kind and understanding .

Hostel: the hostel rooms have 4 beds each which are bunk beds. u need to clean bathroom and your room yourself which is a pain. there is no hostel mess so you need to buy food everyday
