DU Declares ECA Quota Merit List; Admissions to Start from July 11

The University of Delhi has announced its final merit list for students seeking admission under the Extra Curricular Activities (ECA) quota on Saturday, July 7, 2017. ECA seats at DU colleges will be filled on the basis of this merit list.

Close to 1,100 students have been selected for admission to 12 different colleges under the ECA quota in 2017. Out of these, 120 students have been shortlisted for the Indian Classical Dance merit list and 110 students have been selected for English Debate list amongst others.

The Head of ECA admissions at DU, Shalini, said that getting shortlisted in the ECA Merit List does not guarantee admission under the quota. DU offers 5% of seats under the ECA category that are further distributed for different category of students applying under the ECA quota.

DU will conduct ECA Admissions 2017 in five cycle sets that will start from July 11. A student can get admission in more than one DU college under ECA but will seek admission in only one of the colleges, therefore, the seats will remain vacant. Multiple cycles will be conducted as seats will not be filled after the first cycle itself, added Shalini.

Each cycle will comprise the following:

  • Students shortlisted in trials will have to register at the college of their preference by visiting campus.
  • Admission will be done on the basis of merit to the courses for which the college offers ECA quota.
  • Students seeking admission under ECA will have to get their documents verified till July 13
