Anil Sahasrabunde, Chairman of All India Council for Technical Education or AICTE, indicated that technocrats and engineering students in India need to focus on creating startups at varsity or college level. These startups can be moulded into Multi-National Companies (MNCs) in future. He was addressing at a college event which was held at Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology.
He cited the example of America where most of the companies had their origin either at college or varsity level. He urged the engineering students to cultivate the same culture and create startups which are imperative for the development of the country. He further added that Indian startups must be able to compete with the likes of Google and Microsoft.

Mr. Anil expressed that AICTE wants to challenge the quality of education that is being imparted across the world and it is only possible with the support of technical institutions in the country. He pointed that various leading business organisations from the industry sector revealed that engineering students lack required employability skills.
He concluded that it is the prior responsibility of AICTE and technical institutes across the country to ensure that 100% students are employed. Instead of searching or seeking for jobs, engineering students shall consider and must be encouraged to create own startups which will further generate more employment opportunities.

The Chairman of AICTE laid emphasis on quality education in engineering colleges and varsities. But, most of the technical institutes in India lack necessary infrastructure facilities as well as faculty, and it 's hard to make students 100% employable in the current scenario. Therefore, AICTE must take steps to regulate the colleges which lack necessary facilities.
