The Department of School Education from the State Government of Tamil Nadu has announced that they will be conducting a qualifying examination for students of Government-run or Government-aided schools, which will give them the opportunity to appear for free NEET and JEE coaching classes.
The Department of School Education of the Tamil Nadu State Government has declared that a qualifying examination will be conducted for the students studying in the Government or Government-aided schools. As per sources, the students who appear for the qualifying examinations will be able to sit for free coaching classes for National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) or Joint Entrance Examinations (JEE). Sources further state that the qualifying examinations will be conducted on the 7th of August 2019.
Sources have also stated that all the details regarding the questions as well as the answers will be shared with the Government-run and the Government-aided schools. The candidates for the free coaching classes on NEET and JEE will be done based purely on their performance in the qualifying examination.

In order to make this a possibility, the Department of School Education of the Tamil Nadu State Government has stated that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a private party that has agreed to provide the students with the free coaching classes. In a press conference, the Minister for School Education, KA Sengottaiyan had announced that in the first phase of implementing the scheme, the State Government will establish 100 NEET coaching centres across the state. He further added that 312 centres will gradually be established by the end of January next year.

The Minister further announced that the free coaching classes will only be applicable to the students studying in the government-run schools or the government-aided schools. He further mentioned that the selection of the candidates will be further done on the basis of their performance in the qualifying examination that will be conducted on the 7th of August 2019.
