GATE 2023: IIT Kanpur will begin GATE 2023 registration on August 30 at gate.iitk.ac.in. Candidates aspiring to appear for GATE 2023 must be aware of the instructions to upload scanned image of photograph and signature while filling the application form. As per the official information brochure released by IIT Kanpur for GATE 2023, the candidates will have to upload the passport size photograph, signature and PDF of Identity Proof at the time of registration. IIT Kanpur facilitates the application form through the GOAPS portal through which the candidates can complete the pre-registration, form filling and many more. The candidates must make a note of the Enrollment ID that will be generated after completing the basic registration. GATE 2023 Image Uploading Instructions
Since the application form requires candidates to upload their photograph and signature, here are the instructions that must be followed while uploading them.
Instructions to Upload Photograph
- The image must be of good quality and must match your appearance on exam day.
- The photograph must be of passport size (3.5 cm width × 4.5 cm height)
- The candidate's face must cover at least 60- 70% of the photograph.
- The passport-size photo must be coloured with white background.
- The face in the photograph must not be covered with objects like sunglasses, caps, etc. and both ears must be visible.
- The maximum size of the photo can be 480*640 pixels and the minimum is 240*320 pixels.
- The minimum file size can be 20 KB and the maximum can be 200 KB.
- The file must be in JPG or JPEG format.
Instructions to Upload Signature
- The signature of the candidate must be in black or dark blue colour ink. A signature in any other colour will not be accepted.
- The minimum file size is 5 KB and the maximum is 200 KB.
- The signature must be done inside a rectangular box.
- The file must be in JPG or JPEG format.
- The maximum size of the signature can be 160*560 pixels and the minimum size can be 80*280 pixels.
