GATE 2026 Extended Registration Window: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, the organising institute for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026, has announced that the extended registration window for GATE 2026 will close today, October 6, 2025 . The registration process includes filling in individual and educational details, uploading required documents such as a photograph, signature, ID proof, and paying the prescribed examination fee. After this deadline, the applications will still be accepted with an additional late fee till October 9. The GATE 2026 exam is to be held on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026, and the results will be declared on March 19, 2026.

After the deadline tonight, the registration portal will reopen for an extended period with a late fee, which will be active from October 7 to 9, 2025 . During this phase, applicants will need to pay an additional amount of Rs. 500 on top of the regular registration fee.

Candidates are advised to complete the application process by tonight and upload all the required documents necessary for GATE 2026 . In case there is any further extension, IIT Guwahati will officially notify through the GATE 2026 portal, viz., gate2026.iitg.ac.in. The initial last date for GATE 2026 registration without a late fee was September 28, but the exam authority extended the deadline till October 6 .
