Honourable Chief Minister of Goa, Manohar Parrikar passed away on March 17, 2019, after battling with pancreatic cancer. The sudden demise of Goa CM shocked the nation. As a mark of respect to the departed soul, schools and colleges in Goa shall remain closed on Monday, March 18, 2019. An official circular has been issued to all educational institutes across the state.
Goa Board HSSC Exams 2019 Postponed
Due to the sudden demise of Goa CM, Manohar Parrikar, the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Education (HSSC) has postponed the board exam scheduled on Monday, March 18, 2019. HSSC exam in Logic and Co-Operation, Computer Science and Banking are scheduled to be conducted on March 18, 2019. These exams will be conducted on March 27, 2019. The dates of other exams will remain the same, confirmed by the board.
University exams, which are scheduled to take place on March 18, 2019, shall be postponed. Students must check the official websites of universities to find the revised dates of exams.
The state government of Goa has declared seven days of mourning from March 18 to 24, 2019. There will be no official entertainment during these days. Students must note that schools, colleges and board exams will resume from March 19, 2019.

Apart from educational institutes, all government offices will also remain closed on March 18, 2019.
