Delhi University is likely to introduce single-form for DU admissions 2020. The application process of DU for UG admissions is expected to begin in April.

The University of Delhi UG admission process 2020 will start in April, and the varsity is planning to roll out some changes in the admission process from the upcoming academic year. For the upcoming admission session, DU is likely to implement single-form for UG admissions 2020. As a part of the changes in the DU Admission Process last year, all the state boards were valued in the same manner. DU Admission Process Major Changes 2019

The following are the major changes introduced by the University of Delhi for DU Admissions 2019 –

  • Earlier, the students from other boards would face a 2.5 % deduction in marks during the admission process, from this year every state board will be valued in the same manner.
  • DU has introduced an online calculator which will help the students while filling the marks.
  • Yoga is no more a part of DU sports quota it will be put under the extracurricular activities.
  • DU has included Modern Indian Languages in the list of academic subjects. This implies that a student can choose them as one of their main subjects while calculating their best four scores. 2.5% deduction of marks have been discarded from this year.
  • DU will release separate cut-off list for students belonging to EWS category so that students do not face any inconvenience.
  • The varsity has also made it mandatory to carry out a forensic examination of mark sheets and documents submitted for PG admissions.
  • Delhi University has hiked the registration fee this year. General category candidates will have to pay Rs. 250, while SC/ ST candidates will have to pay Rs. 200.
  • If a student changes the stream while filling the online application form, only 2% of marks will be deducted. Until last year, it was 5%. It is good news for all students who are expecting to change streams.
  • Delhi University is expected to use the database of CBSE for obtaining students’ certificates and Marksheets. If this works out, the certificates and Marksheet of students will be uploaded with the online application form automatically.
  • Starting this year, ECA and sports admissions of DU shall be delinked from admission cutoff lists.
  • DU affiliated colleges must have representatives from various categories (EWS, OBC, ST, SC, Northeast etc.) in their grievance committees.
  • This year, the varsity will make sure to display the cutoff lists and vacant seats list 24/7 on its official website.
