The State Education Department of the Gujarat Government issued notices to the colleges for not participating in the Placement Programme organised for the students of the non-technical and technical colleges.
The Gujarat Government’s State Education Department issued notices to the 48 Grant-in-Aid institutions for not appearing in the ongoing camp for placements. The placement programme has been organised for the students of the non-technical and technical colleges of Gujarat. Being first of its kind, the camp was arranged by the Gujarat State Government. The camp started on 28th January and will end on 23rd February 2019. The special placement camp is being organised to guide students as well as the institutions regarding the placement session organised to help students get the best available opportunities.
There are 100 inactive educational institutions that were guided to either join late or allow students to sit for the interviews. Whereas, the 48 institutions that failed to appear for the placement camp were asked to submit valid reasons for their act of non-participation. In this context, the Principal Secretary of the Education Department, Anju Sharma said that after the identification of the 48 institutions the notices were sent and the concerned management officials of these institutes also understood the importance of the camp for their students.
Out of these 48 institutions, 22 institutions replied to the notice stating reasons like lack of communication, shortage of the staff members, non-functional internet, lack of manpower capable of using the internet, etc. Few institutions that replied the served notices include the PT Arts College’s Principal In-Charge – Premal Yagnik, RJ Tibrewal Commerce College’s Principal – Hiten Parikh along with the Principal and In-Charges of the other colleges.

All of these 48 colleges gave the explanation as per their issues and problems they faced at the time of participation. The RJ Tibrewal Commerce College’s Principal also added that even after the non-participation, about 36 students of the college went to attend the interviews held at the placement programme.
