Gujarat University: B.Com and B.Sc Final Merit List 2017 Released

Gujarat University final merit list for B.Com and B.Sc admissions 2017 has been released on the official website. The university will announce the mock allotment result on 24th June. Students will be allowed to make changes in their choices from 25th June to 28th June. The final first allotment list will be released on 1st July.

As per the sources, a total of 40,504 candidates have registered for B.Com admission, out of which 39,098 applicants got their names in the merit list since 1,406 students had submitted incomplete application forms thus their names were excluded from the merit list.

Steps to check Final Merit List 2017 for B.Com and B.Sc:

  • Go to the authorized website.
  • Enter the required details like registration number, serial number, PIN number and security image text.
  • Click on the submit, the merit list will be displayed.
  • Search for your name in the list.
  • Download and take a printout of the same for future reference.

There are 24 science colleges under Gujarat University, three of them are government-owned institutes while six colleges belong to the grant-in-aid category and rest others are self-financed. Total 7,800 seats are available in these colleges. However, 70 per cent seats reserved for the students clearing senior secondary exam from Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. For the B.Sc course, nearly 9,000 seats are available across 25 colleges affiliated to Gujarat University.

This year, the Gujarat University has decided to do away with the “carry-forward system” which earlier allowed students to enter next semester even if they are unable to clear all the subjects in their previous semester. The decision was made last week at a meeting of the academic and executive council of the university.
