A total of 1,32,391 candidates appeared for the Gujarat Common Entrance Test which was conducted by Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board. The exam was conducted on 10th May. After the announcement of results of GUJCET 2017, it was revealed that a total of 1,327 candidates scored more than 99 percentile in the examination. Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) declared the result of the exam on Tuesday.
Out of the 1,327 aspirants, 665 candidates belonged to non-medical stream and 662 candidates belonged to medical stream. On the basis of rank allotted to students by the GSEB, a candidate will be able to seek admission in pharmacy and engineering courses.

The Gujarat Common Entrance Test used to be conducted every year for admissions to engineering courses. However, after the introduction of JEE or the Joint Entrance Examination of CBSE, the GujCET was discontinued from the year 2013. However, now again, from this year onwards, the exam was reintroduced.

Now that the result declaration is done, counselling process for GUJCET will begin in the first week of June. Candidates will have to be present with the required documents as mandated in order to be able to get a seat in any of the engineering college of the Gujarat state.
