Haryana Government to Train 840 Girls on Computer Education

Haryana Government has decided to provide computer training programme facilities to 840 girl students from both urban and rural areas.

In order to encourage the girl students to take up computer education, the Haryana government has decided to provide computer training programme classes to 840 girl students from both urban and rural areas. The Technical Education Department and the Haryana Women Development Corporation (HWDC) will jointly take up the initiative.

Girl students, studying in classes up to the 10+2 level in urban and rural areas, can apply for the proposed new courses. They will have to submit their application form to the District Manager of HWDC, in the district they reside in.

There will be 40 students in each batch. Students will be trained in two batches in a day. Preference will be given to students who are in the BPL or below poverty line category. The enrolled students will be taught on different fields of computer knowledge such as -

  • MS Office
  • Typing tutor
  • Internet
  • Database management
  • Emailing and tallying

They will also be trained on the job oriented courses in computers. The government is determined to provide these courses in a better and safe environment so that they can achieve the best for themselves. A student will further also be able to enroll for higher studies in the computer knowledge field if they wish to.

On the other hand, in order to support girl child education and to make them job-ready, last year the Haryana government had also directed the transport department to offer free travelling facilities to college going girl students so that they do not face any challenges to achieve their goals.

The CM of the state, Mr. Khattar had said that one of the priorities of his government was to provide convenient and safe transport facility to girl students studying in the colleges. The government offered free bus passes to students travelling a distance of 150 km from the previous 60 km distance.
