Haryana Govt. to Set Up Two CIPET Centres Soon

Haryana Govt. to Set Up Two CIPET Centres Soon

With an objective to meet the requirements of skilled workforce in the plastic industry, the Government of Haryana has decided to set up two Central Institutes of Plastic Engineering and Technology, also known as CIPET soon. Union Minister Mr. Ananth Kumar made the announcement regarding the same and assured that CIPET will come up in the western and southern regions of the state. Further, he was of the opinion that there is a need for a skilled workforce in the plastic industry.

Mr. Ananth Kumar revealed that the country needs 10 lakh plastic engineers and technicians. The CIPET centres will play a significant role in helping the nation to become self-sufficient in fields such as agriculture, space exploration etc. The minister also directed the Chemical and Fertilizers Ministry to draft a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enforce a collaboration between CIPET and Saksham Yuva Yojana. The ministry needs to get an approval from central and state governments on the same.

The minister further announced that the state government would set up two parks in Karnal and Panipat for pharmacy and plastics. The estimated budget for setting up these parks is Rs. 1500 crores. If the park for plastic comes at Panipat, it will generate employment opportunities for 30,000 plastic engineers. The Karnal plant for pharmacy will play a significant role in the production of medicine, and reduce the cost of production by 30%, he added.

The Union government will provide all the required facilities to the pharmacy park at Karnal. So far, the state government has generated employment opportunities for 1.70 lakh youth through 13,000 new industrial units.
