At a time when the Nation is observing the ‘World Hindi Diwas’ a University from Hindi heartland of the country, ever since its coming up four decades back, yet to get it’s Hindi Department.
Mahatma Jyotiba Phule (MJP) Rohilkhand University yet to get its Hindi department for aspiring student.
"Hindi is our national language and the Nation is observing World Hindi Diwas and there is no Hindi department in the university. What could I speak more?” said a morose faculty member from the University.
“It is irony of the ironies this varsity is situated in the country's Hindi heartland and a Hindi Department is yet get functional. The lackadaisical attitude and indifference on the part of university authorities have failed in setting up a separate department,” said another faculty members from the University.
“At the time when the University was established the main aim was to start courses that were unavailable at other colleges in the region. Several departments like - animal science, plant science and ancient history and culture came up but the Hindi department never saw the light despite the efforts of the University official for opening of a Hindi department,” he added further.
But if the new department is opened University will have to appoint seven faculty members, including four lecturers and three readers. It will be a tough task to pay off their salaries as setting up the department with self-finance is not feasible for the University," said an official from the office of Registrar.
Students have to seek admission in Bareilly College or in other universities across the country in absence of the Hindi department.
