Hindustan University 8th Convocation Ceremony: 979 UG Degrees Awarded

  • Tamil Nadu based Hindustan University recently organised its 8th Convocation Ceremony where 979 UG, 214 PG and 25 Ph.D. degrees were awarded to students of HITS.
  • In the coming years, Hindustan University will focus on research and innovation projects to help students excel.
Hindustan University 8th Convocation Ceremony: 979 UG Degrees Awarded

Hindustan University, also known as Hindustan Institute of Technology & Science (HITS) celebrated its 8th convocation ceremony at the premises of the varsity located at Padur. Chancellor of the varsity, Dr. Elizabeth Varghese awarded 979 UG degrees, 214 PG degrees and 25 Ph.D. degrees to the graduating students.

Devolving his address during the convocation ceremony, Vice Chancellor of Hindustan University, Dr. S. Ramachandran revealed that HITS has been rated with 3 stars by QS (Quacquarelli Symonds), an international ranking framework organisation. Similarly, HITS has been rated 5 stars in facilities, employability, teaching, inclusiveness and innovation. He appreciated and thanked the faculty, students and staff for their vital contribution towards the development of varsity.

Dr. S. Ramachandran further revealed that NBA (National Board of Accreditation) has also accredited the B.Tech Aeronautical Engineering course offered by Hindustan University.

Chairperson of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Secretary of Department of Research, Dr. S. Christopher has been awarded Honoris Causa (Doctor of Science) by Hindustan University.

Addressing the students, Mr. Naraian Karthikeyan, Padmashri awardee and India’s first-class Formula One Driver motivated the students by highlighting the fact that these kinds of achievements are a great source of inspiration for students. He advised the students to come out from their comfort zones and strive to achieve greater heights in life.

Quoting the lines ‘actions speak louder than words’, Chief Guest for the event, Dr. Christopher explained the significance of developing a professional culture in different areas. He advised the students to be productive and innovative in their respective field of expertise.

Dr. Elizabeth Varghese highlighted the importance of research in engineering education and suggested the graduates develop emotional strength to face different challenges of life. He also insisted the students work for the welfare of the nation.

Hindustan University has also collaborated with renowned automobile companies like Toyota, Hyundai and Volkswagen in the past for establishing training centres in campus to promote institute industry partnerships.
