The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) Kolhapur division has completed the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exam assessment. A department official on Saturday said that the exam result is likely to be declared by May 15.
The completion of assessment is important as the state board has already said that there will be no more supplementary exams in October from this year. The exams will be held in July to save the academic year of those students who failed in the regular exams. Kolhapur divisional board secretary Sharad Gosavi on Saturday said that there were eight lakh answer sheets assessed for the HSC exam. Timely work will yield HSC results on time, unlike past incidents where it was delayed by a week.
The HSC exam, which started on February 18, witnessed non-cooperation from the members of the teachers' body over pending demands. However, the matter was resolved and the process was unaffected.
This year, as many as 1.25 lakh students gave the HSC exam from the division comprising Kolhapur, Sangli and Satara districts.

"The next procedure after submission of answer sheets involves mark scanning of the candidates. All scores will be sent to the press department for printing of the marks, the second last step before the result is announced. I added that considering the current progress rate, the divisional board is sure that the results will be announced by mid-May. "The procedure is not lagging behind and the only concern is the completion of assessment of the other eight divisional boards as well. If each and every division completes this on time, the results will not be delayed."
