The IGNOU or Indira Gandhi National Open University has announced admission to its new Certificate course in the Japanese Language. Recently, IGNOU announced admission to Certificate course in the Korean language. Candidates aspiring to apply for any of these two courses must visit the official website of IGNOU to submit the online application form. December 31, 2018, is the date to apply for these two courses.
The new Certificate course in the Japanese language aims to teach the basic concepts of the Japanese language. The new Japanese language course comprises of SLM (Self-Learning Material) integrated with audio-visual components.
IGNOU Certificate in Japanese Language Course Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates who are interested in taking up the Certificate in Japanese Language course at IGNOU must satisfy the below-mentioned eligibility criteria: -
- The minimum age required to pursue a Certificate in Japanese Language course is 18 years.
- The applicants must have passed at least Class 12 to be eligible to take up Certificate in Japanese Language course.
- The candidates must have minimum knowledge of English to pursue this course.
Steps to Apply for IGNOU Certificate in Japanese Language Course:
Interested candidates who are eligible to take up Certificate in Japanese Language course must follow the below-mentioned steps to register: -
- Visit the official website of IGNOU.
- Click on the link on the homepage that indicates ‘Online Admission Open for July 2018 session’.
- A new page will open where the candidates need to click on ‘Register Yourself’.
- Fill all the details stage wise, upload Class 12 marks sheet or certificate.
- Submit the application form and pay the fee of Rs. 5,500 in online mode.
- Take the printout of application form.
- You will receive an admission letter and Identity Card from the nearest Regional/ Study Centre by post.

The duration of the Certificate in Japanese language course is one year. The Term End Exams (TEE) for the candidates who took admission in January 2019 session will take place in December 2019.
