On Thursday, April 13, 2018, IIM Ahmedabad welcomed its 13th batch of one-year full-time residential PGP in Management for Executives (PGPX) for the academic year 2018-19. The course was inaugurated by Professor Errol D’ Souza in the presence of IIM-A PGPX Chairperson, Professor Arindam Banerjee. Dean of PGPX programme, Professor Shailesh Gandhi was also present at the venue.
This year, 113 candidates have joined PGPX course at IIM Ahmedabad. The 13th batch comprises of participants with a maximum work experience of eight to nine years, and international work experience of at least two years.

The average GMAT score of some of the candidates was 700 and GRE score of 323. The 13th PGPX batch is also very diverse in terms of professional/ work experience. 16.97% of the batch comprises women candidates and 17.39% are NRIs. On the other hand, 54.35% of the 13th PGPX batch has international work-experience and has worked abroad before joining IIM-A.

The PGPX course of IIM Ahmedabad was launched in 2009. So far, more than 1,000 students have graduated from PGPX course. Until the academic session 2016-17, the intake of PGPX course was 90. The premier management institute added one more section with a motive to enhance the learning experience of PGPX participants. The officials of PGPX course urged the participants to focus more on learning. Mental discipline and academic rigour will play a vital role in determining the success of PGPX course, they stated.
